Giulia Scopelliti is a German-Italian soprano.

Since the 2022/23 season, Giulia Scopelliti has been engaged at the International Opera Studio of the Opéra National de Lyon (France) headed by Jochen Breiholz and Coach in Residence Kirsten Schötteldreier. There, she made her debut as Young Shepherd in Richard Wagner's Tannhäuser, as Une jeune babylonienne in Jules Massenet's Hérodiade, as Mademoiselle Jouvenot in Francesco Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur, as Barbarina in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, as Feklusha in Leoš Janáček's Kát’a Kabanová, as Falke/Hüter der Schwelle des Tempels in Richard Strauss' Die Frau ohne Schatten, as the Angel Seraph in Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah in a staged version by Calixto Bieito, and as Masha/Prilepa in Piotr Ilitch Tchaikovsky's Pikovaja Dama. Recently she debuted the role of Héro in Berlioz’ Béatrice et Bénédict directed by Damiano Michieletto. In the 2024/25 season, Giulia Scopelliti will be seen at the Opéra de Lyon as Agnieszka in Giorgio Battistelli's 7 Minuti and as 2nd Niece in Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes directed by Christof Loy.

Giulia Scopelliti worked alongside an international cast with internationally renowned directors such as Damiano Michieletto, Calixto Bieito, Mariusz Treliński, David Hermann, Italo Nunziata and notable conductors such as Daniele Rustioni, Wayne Marshall, Constantin Trinks, Johannes Debus and Sesto Quatrini. Additionally, she performed with the Opéra de Lyon at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris.

Giulia Scopelliti made her international opera debut in summer 2022 at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa (Italy) as Fiorilla in Rossini's opera Il turco in Italia. As part of the Accademia di alto perfezionamento del Teatro Carlo Felice headed by Francesco Meli, she attended master classes with Serena Gamberoni, Davide Cavalli, Michele Pertusi, Chris Merritt, Giulio Zappa, Rosa Feola, Sergio Vitale, Antonella D'Amico, Roberto De Candia, Giorgia Guerra, Francesca Sassu, and Vittorio Terranova.

She began her vocal studies in 2014 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim, earning her bachelor's degree under the guidance of Prof. Stefanie Krahnenfeld and Prof. Snežana Stamenković. From 2019 onwards, she pursued a joint master's degree in vocal performance with a focus on concert/Lied and focus on opera, studying under the guidance of Prof. Snežana Stamenković, Prof. Caroline Melzer (voice), Prof. Andreas Baesler, Prof. Cosima Osthoff (opera school), Prof. David Santos, and Prof. Axel Bauni (Lieder Class), graduating in spring 2022. In 2016, she was a scholarship recipient of the Richard-Wagner Association Mannheim. That same year, she received the Scholarship “Deutschland-Stipendium” from the Rotary-Club Ludwigshafen am Rhein.

Giulia Scopelliti's notable performances in the realm of concert/oratorio have included Bach's Christmas Oratorio (Rome), Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, and Saint-Saëns' Oratorio de Noël. She has performed with orchestras such as the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester, Sinfonietta Mühlacker, and the Baden-Baden Philharmonic.

At the Opera School Mannheim, she appeared in La voix humaine by Francis Poulenc, as Lucia in The Rape of Lucretia by Benjamin Britten, as Belinda/1st Witch in Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell. Giulia Scopelliti received significant training at master classes with Prof. Ulrike Sonntag and singing tuition with Isabelle Müller-Cant (Stuttgart). Furthermore, she took part of the 1st Baden-Württemberg Opera School Meeting in 2019 at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart where she attended master classes with Stefan Herheim, Doris Soffel, and Dan Ettinger, and in 2020 with Prof. Hartmut Höll at the University of Music Karlsruhe and with Prof. Robin Fisher at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim. Additionally, she has pianistic roots (Prof. Ulrike Wohlwender, Stuttgart).

In 2021, she won the 2nd prize at the 17th Paula Salomon-Lindberg Competition "Das Lied" in Berlin (1st prize not awarded).

Her recitals at the Opéra de Lyon included songs by Schumann, Debussy, Poulenc, Hahn, Rachmaninov, and Rimsky-Korsakov.

Besides her native languages German and Italian, she is fluent in both French and English and has basic knowledge of Spanish and Lithuanian.
